  5. LCACHE is a Write Once, Read Many (WORM) technology enhancement product
  6. developed by Advanced Technology Systems, Inc. LCACHE minimizes the
  7. disadvantages of WORM technology such as long seek times, slow data transfer
  8. rates and problems with disk allocations and directories caused by the
  9. inability to write over sectors. LCACHE appears transparent to both user and
  10. operating system, utilizing standard operating system files, systems commands
  11. and utilities. LCACHE also resolves the problems of file fragmentation on disk
  12. due to multiple tasks writing concurrently. It minimizes the number of seeks
  13. required, maximizes use of obtainable I/O rate and reduces the amount of space
  14. required for overhead.
